When thinking of smartphones, most people think of either the Apple brand or Samsung. These two have always been the leaders in the industry. They offer the most features, however the iPhone 7 is trying to up the standards. When compared to the Samsung Galaxy S7, there are some differences worth noting.

The iPhone 7 continues to boast an attractive design. Offered with either a matte black or a jet black metal body, it still has the front glass that is curved. There is a big change in that the audio jack at the bottom of the phone has been removed. It now contains a force-sensitive button. This was done in the interest of space. It does require either wireless headphones or a Lightning connector. They have also removed the antenna lines and integrated them into the phone, rather then having them on the back of the phone.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 continues to have a very similar design from the phone before it. With the back and front continuing to be glass and the sides still containing a metal strip, it is slightly larger and heavier then the iPhone 7. Both phones however, are still easy to use with just one hand.

Between the two phones, the Samsung 7 continue to have a superior display. The 5.1 inch display has 326 pixels per inch, and has a richer display of colors. Although the Apple iPhone 7 still offers an excellent display with exceptional colors.

When looking at the waterproofing of each phone, the iPhone7 is able to withstand being placed in water at a depth of 3 feet for up to 30 minutes. The Samsung Galaxy S7 can be submerged for up to 30 minutes in 6 feet of water. Neither is recommended, but they should be able to function fine after being dropped into the toilet, or having other liquids come in contact with them through either rain or an unintentional spill.

The Apple iPhone 7 offers two stereo speakers. One is located on the top and one on the bottom. The Samsung Galaxy S7 only contains one speaker.

The iPhone 7 has a processor that is considered to be one of the most powerful. It contains a 64-bit A10 Fusion chip. It can match and possibly outperform the Samsung Galaxy S7, which contains a Snapdragon 820 processor, which is a 64-bit quad-core. The Samsung also has 4GB of RAM and the iPhone 7 only has 2GB. However, the Apple phones do not run apps in the background, and this helps optimize the phone’s performance.

Apple improved the battery life on the iPhone 7. This gives it a battery life of about 6 hours when streaming. The Samsung Galaxy S7 outperforms this with a battery life of nine hours when streaming.

Both phones contain excellent cameras. The Samsung Galaxy S7 was considered to have the best camera on the Android market, but the iPhone 7 also offers a superior camera. The Samsung features a 12-megapixel camera, along with many other features. The Apple phone processes pictures with machine learning. The post-processing on the Apple phone has always been excellent.

When looking at the connectivity and software, both phones are similar. They may offer different features, but overall, it is difficult to tell which one is superior. It all depends upon what you want from your phone. If you want to be able to do more customizing, then the Samsung might be the best option. If you want more support for apps and updates that are more reliable, then the Apple phone might be the direction to go.

Both phones are able to use all of the major US phone carriers. They also offer Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and dual-band Wi-Fi. Both phones also offer numerous features and are excellently crafted. Either is a good option. In choosing which is beat, it all depends upon personal preference.
